A valiant thorn no longer spikes and spears
A black veiled rose has rained upon his heart
Thorn softened by devouring all her tears
Rose hardened when her world was torn apart
When love’s goddess is hardened is there hope
Can flesh regrow upon a soulless bone?
Can softened thorn do more than simply grope?
Is it too much to want for things unknown?
Can god of endless power love for real?
Announcing in the valley of the Queens
Intent on just her precious heart to steal
He likes to think he knows now what love means
If Romeo and Juliet should live
What greater gift to lovers could one give?

A sonnet seemed suitable to fit the bill :-)
