I was perched by the first floor window sill, looking out the window at the bustle of Mandalay the mosaic tiles presented an interesting backdrop to the array of passers by…

Mandalay always conjures the sigh of Daphne Du Maurier’s Rebecca.
“Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again.” …sigh :)
I know, I know, small matter of a vowel, yet dream, I do!
    A great catch M@
    S&ra ;-) x

  • Yep it certainly conjures some images, I hope they don’t change the name like they did with Burma and Rangoon, there is romance in them there names… Thanks S&ra :) x

Stunning timing Matt, the way the figure and parasol fall perfectly into the mosaic pattern, is as if you planned it like a movie scene. Wonderful vantage point. This is amazingly gorgeous. I love it xo

  • Thanks so much Trace, I tried cropping it a few ways to line things up and such but I ended up preferring it un-cropped, it was a great place to shoot from :) x

Patterns on patterns, tone on tone! Nice one Matt!

  • Thanks Mel, I could have spent hours there I reckon, there was a constant stream of people and most were carrying things of various kinds. :)

It’s like she’s a part of the mosaic!!! Wow. Well spotted and beautifully processed, Matt!

  • Thanks so much Mieke, I guess it was just lucky that the colour of her brolly seemed to work with the mosaic, though a few people with blue things also walked by and that seemed to fit too. :)
