I uploaded this back in January but kept it hidden, I have a compulsion to post something today to show that I’m still here and I’m still an active member of RB :)

Friday morning I went to Avalon pool but the council workers were there with their fences and lights and were doing some maintenance so I drove to Bilgola and walked around on the rock shelf. This looks calm but the sea had a bit of energy that morning and I came close to getting knocked over by a wave. I think It’s a location worth revisiting. I love being at places like this at dawn, it’s the best part of the day for me.

Such a restful photo, Matt. I will go to work with this in my mind… :) :) :)

  • Thanks Mieke, I’ve actually found myself reminiscing about that morning since I looked at this again and the speed that peace changed to turmoil seemed poignant…

This was only a short time later and it nearly knocked me off my feet :)

And I shall show that I am also part of said community by posting a comment on it Matt :)

Love the simplicity and the reflections, and you really can’t beat that feeling around dawn down by the waters edge

  • Thank you so much Stuart, I know we both enjoy that time of day on the coast half a world apart… I’m so pleased that you’re still part of this community :)

Breathtaking, I adore the colours and the reflection is of course sublime. It is so good to see you upload a new albeit old image hehe…x

  • Thanks Lisa, I too find the colours really attractive, I was hoping for a fiery sunrise, but as long as the sun keeps coming up there’s no point complaining ;), and the subtlety of the tones certainly adds a peace to the atmosphere :) x

A perfect reflection of peace, Matt…the mauve hues are so calming…and the horizon straight and true…lovely mate ;-)
    S&ra x

  • Hi S&ra, thanks mate, the Cokin filter adds a touch of magenta which enhances that mauve hue… seems to suit this sort of image :) x

So good to see another upload from you Matt! The beach is one of my fav places to be, and this shot shows how beautiful and serene it can be, at times :)

  • I’m terribly slow at posting work lately Mel, but I still really enjoy looking at the works of others. Yes it’s hard to beat the beach at dawn, and it tops it off when that’s followed by breakfast with a friend in a little cafe :)
