This is another one from the rock shelf at the northern end of Mona Vale Beach, I’m hoping to shoot there early one morning when there’s a bit of colour and the tide is low, this was a reconnaissance mission. I think it would look pretty amazing with a colourful sunrise, (the sun rises pretty close to the middle of this). There are a few rock pools on the way which would be really easy to slip into in the dark before dawn, and the sea has to be fairly calm so the waves don’t take the camera, or worse still the photographer :-(

Omg Matt this is amazing………what a beautiful image, the tones, the rock textures and the sky are superb………and it must be awesome with the sunsetting between the rocks too!!
Happy New Year Matt!
xo
Thanks Trace, I think it looks more impressive in a photo than in real life, and I’ll tell you something, just between you and me, if the sun ever sets between those rocks I’ll stop arguing with Philosophy Lee… It reminds me of the line in this song at one minute fifty seconds ;-)
I hope you have a really Happy New Year too x

what a beautiful spot Matt..I love this one let alone the picture you painted in my mind with the rising sun behind it…sounds awesome. I love the atmosphere of the greys and the capture of movements is fantastic..,gorgeous shot!!
: )
Thanks Rhonda, It is a lovely spot, I really need to explore the whole rock shelf systematically at different tides because the whole appearance changes so much depending on the tide and the sea state :-)
