For some time now I’ve been besotted by Mel Brackstone’s SS Dicky images. She generously shares much information about how she gets such remarkable images, like this for example
I finally bought some NDgrad filters and this and my next image are my first attempts to use them to capture the movement of the ocean, I have much to learn. Thanks for the inspiration and advice Mel.

    Thanks Jordan, yep, I wanted a long exposure and anything longer would have been too long because I had to grab the tripod and lift it up just as the shutter closed. The water came up above my knees….....

    It was Mel and her ‘Dicky’ images that inspired me to get into Grads. as well. Her advice was really a big help to me.

    Thanks Helen, this pool is only about a ten minute drive from where I live, It’s quite interesting when the tide is high and the sea is up a bit.

    Thanks, yep I’ve since bought a wide angle lens and modified the filter holder so it works with that too, they really are fabulous.
