That was close!
For some time now I’ve been besotted by Mel Brackstone’s SS Dicky images. She generously shares much information about how she gets such remarkable images, like this for example
I finally bought some NDgrad filters and this and my next image are my first attempts to use them to capture the movement of the ocean, I have much to learn. Thanks for the inspiration and advice Mel.

You can try and keep the waters of emotions chained but the power of the tide of your emotions will force the greater flow to seek the world and beyond….... this came to mind when I saw this….. I am officially in amazement ! X
Matt Penfold replied
Thanks KarenSue, good to see you are inspired to poetic thoughts by my photograph, official amazement is good too.
Elucidate
This worked out beautifully. The relatively long exposure was a perfect touch.
Matt Penfold replied
Thanks Jordan, yep, I wanted a long exposure and anything longer would have been too long because I had to grab the tripod and lift it up just as the shutter closed. The water came up above my knees….....
lizalady
Looks like that poool overflowed. Glad you stayed upright on your feet and didn’t get washed away. Great capture.
Matt Penfold replied
Yes the wave came right over the pool, I did get wet but I stayed upright. Thanks Lizalady

Matt Penfold replied
Thanks Helen, this pool is only about a ten minute drive from where I live, It’s quite interesting when the tide is high and the sea is up a bit.
