Nasty Storm

I sailed right into this storm, though it didn’t last long it was quite an experience with short wind gusts up to 60 knots.

This has to be one of the most powerful-looking pictures (storms or anything) that I have ever seen, Matt. Wow!!! “Nasty” is an understatement, here! And you “sailed right into” it. One of us needs to have their head examined.
I rode out a typhoon when I was a kid, in the Pacific. I was on a “tour” with my Grandmother, headed for a few ports in Asia. I guess I have no room to talk; wish I’d had a camera!

  • Matt Penfold replied

Thanks for the comments Dayonda, I’m glad it brought back some memories for you.

LOL, yes. A few of the crew and my grandmother and I were the only ones who didn’t get seasick.
I snuck out a tiny porthole on Deck Two (nobody knew I’d done that, and I could have been swept away) and saw waves higher than the stacks. I was impressed enough to duck back through my little rathole and get back to a boring book. Grandmother and I were the only people in the Lounge.

  • Matt Penfold replied

Funny thing that, my partner, Annette, did exactly as you suggested she went down below and watched our course on the computer the whole time. She didn’t even get wet but I was more saturated than an overdone HDR print. Thanks Kelly.
