Purple Tubercles
This Seastar (Uniophora Granifera) is commonly seen on sheltered rocks and reefs around south eastern Australia, and can vary in color from one individual to the next. This one was taken on Port Noarlunga reef, Adelaide, in about 5m of water. The Port Noarlunga reef is an Aquatic Reserve, and is very protected and accessible dive from the jetty. Organizations such as ReefWatch monitor the affects of the visitors to the reef on the marine life that inhabits it.
