Feeding Manta Ray

Taken at the Manta Heaven site off the Kona Coast of the Big Island of Hawai’i. The week that we were there they happened to be having record numbers of Mantas on the night dive, 27 individuals when we were there, the record of 36 was set a few nights before. A 45 min dive sitting on the bottom watching these gentle giants (the biggest were over 3m across) went by way too quickly, watching them loop between the bottom and the surface feeding on the plankton attracted to our lights.
