A beautiful evening spent down on the shores of Derwent Water. In the summer the sun sets over Bassenthwaite so it seemed sensible to head down to the southern end of Derwent Water to try and catch the last rays as they fell over Keswick and Skiddaw. The sky was still very bright so I had to use a mixture of 0.6/0.9 hard edge cards for the sky and a further 0.6 soft edge grad pulled down over the water. I also took a number of 1 and 2 minute exposures to try out my ‘Big Stopper’ 10ND filter. Was pretty pleased with all of the results.

I’ve had an interest in photography since my ‘dark room’ days at college. I enjoying taking both rural and urban landscapes as well as nature and wildlife.
