This is part of a series that I will be doing as part of a test to see what amperture/shutter and iso combination I can get away with w/o the use of a tripod. I’m trying to lighten my load for the Memorial Day events by carrying as little as possible. I’m trying to get used to carrying only 3 lenses. Right now, I’m thinking of the 8-16mm, the 70-300 VR, 80-400VR, my two macros, 180mm and 90mm, and my lensbaby.
I’m still up in the air about which lens to test so I’m starting w/ the 70-300 VR and the 80-400 VR because I shoot a lot of journalism for the media and it would help a lot for me to not have to lug around the tripod all of the time.
I also do a lot of work at the botanical gardens in low light so this will also help in aiding me to know what the acceptable amount of noise in the image might be.
So, I started this morning by shooting this robin outside my window.
It was shot w/ the 80-400mm VR on manual w/ a Nikon D90 set at iso 200, @ f 5.6 (handheld) at 1/250th sec. focal length set at 400.
