    simple,to the point and beautiful

  • I’m so glad that you liked this. We got almost 3 ft. of snow and this was taken at the start of it. Expecting another 10 inches today.
    I’ll be out!

    Great Capture

  • I shot this originally as a 6×7 B/W three yrs ago. It must have been snowing then too but I need a decent film scanner to do it justice.
So, I hopped down there on the spur of the moment and did the whole shoot over again using my now 1 yr. old Nikon D90.
I’m looking at another body along w/ a 10mm. So far my research says Nikon has the better lens system, with Sigma following as a close second.

I remember seeing this before & didn’t connect with the snow, but now in a different frame of mind it etches into my psyche. Very powerful with snow.

  • I’ve actually been seeking to photograph this for a number of years but, it sits across from an apt. and a hotel w/ only a small traffic island on which it stands.
My best view was standing in traffic trying to elliminate as much of the background clutter as possible.
I have a small moleskin notebook that I have written in it what to shoot and when to shoot it for example: rain, snow, sunny, etc,.
Waited 2 yrs. for this one blizzard to bring out the character of this amazing work.
