A happy (and sporadic) amateur who is trying to perfect his photography skills. I started with photography the way most people do – with a handy little camera (the size of a brick!) when I was a child. Over the years I lost interest as it was expensive to develop film and digital cameras were not even invented.
A couple of years later, I started playing around with my fathers old SLR, and I started to develop some kind of feeling for how I was to compose a photo. This was still pre digital photography, so again – developing cost quite a bit, but I was more interested in developing the films at this point to see if what I shot was worth it.
In the beginning of autumn 2003, my brother gave me a digital compact camera, and a brand… …well, old world really, opened up. I could take as many photos as I liked as long as I had some capacity on the memory card. Blissful! I kept to compacts for a couple of years but then, finally, I treated my self to a DSLR, a Nikon D80 in late 2007. I still use it all the time, even though I sometimes flirt with other cameras, and I mainly use my old ixus as a complement when I can’t be bothered to lug around the D80.
From time to time I can be to busy with exercising or work to fully enjoy shooting, but the love for photography is still intact. I mainly shoot in B&W as this is what I enjoy the most. :)
