Head back and eyes shut
Words spilling like the booze
Give me a beaded glass
With glinting pebbles of ice
Swimming around
Adorning my drink
Give me tranquilizing detachment
My merciful medication
Astonishingly simplistic
Give me a slip and a stumble
The warmth of every muscle
And the smoothness of sound
Give me curious glances
And just enough for cab fare
All the world moves seamlessly
Progressing through the night
Breaking off completely
Give me a softly slipping conscience
