This shot is a sort of like a bittersweet goodbye for me. It was the end of the day (obviously) and was the last evening of my trip out to Yosemite, although I had another morning there, it was back to town after this shot then back home to MD. This shot was taken from Olmstead Point, which was as far as we made it up towards Tioga Pass before the sun started setting. So we settled in and got shooting until the sun set. Managed to capture some great colors of the setting sun on the sides of the mountains. Half Dome is the mountain seen in the distance on the right hand side.
HDR created from 3 images in Oloneo PhotoEngine. I tried to keep the processing as natural as possible and not overdo the “HDR look”, hope I succeeded.

Very well done, Matthew!
all i can say is wow this is so beautiful
Before I read the title, I guessed it was Yosemite, seeing what appeared to be Half Dome in the background. You did such a fantastic job of capturing the ‘last light’. Beautiful!
