It's never really dark.
After uploading the photo , Corn and Cotton Wool, and considering the amout of light left to illumine the earth after the sun has gone down, I found myself recalling a contemplative moment whilst walking the Stations of The Cross at The Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, Norfolk.
Refer to John 1: 3-5... and many more verses!
Please view my artwork ‘Corn and Cotton Wool’ which inspired this writing.

Stillness Speaks **Max 2 uploads per day** {{No NUDES, ABSTRACT, CANDIDS or ACTION IMAGES}}The darkness draws in,
and for many, fear.
Why such fear of the night?
We live in an enlightened age.
It never is really dark.
Children dread the night.
We leave lights on, doors ajar -
‘do not fear, we are just next door’
For the lonely, the night is long.
The radio provides company,
The lamp burns late.
Many fear death.
The cold, damp, grave.
The eternal darkness.
Eternal darkness?
Faith conquers fear;
Faith gives comfort.
Faith sheds Light.
Consider the Tomb….
The temporary tomb
of Christ.
Did He fear death,
the dark,
the loneliness?
As Man, quite likely!
But inside His tomb,
as the stone door
was rolled into place,
He wasn’t alone.
It was not dark.
He had no fear.
When the door was closed tight,
Light filled the tomb.
Fiery angels filled the space
and the whole place was filled with
the glory of God
No-one witnessed this happening
except Christ Himself.
We mourned outside the dark, cold, tomb
not realising that…
It’s never really dark.
We know better now.
Faith conquers fear,
Faith gives comfort,
Faith sheds Light.
All in the name of Jesus,
Our God.
He is Risen! Alleluia!

How could I NOT favor this! I am in awe of the thoughts and words you have penned! Who would have thought to “think” of what it was like in the tomb, as Jesus lay there…..then was raised! YES…..there had to be the greatest of light inside that tomb. What GREAT imagery this is… and certainly a favorite. And I will remember this, as a teaching point to my ladies! Mina, you amaze me, with your insight!!! XX…..

Once again, thank you, Elaine.
The words didn’t flow so easily for this one, so I wasn’t sure if ‘it worked’.
