Thanks Shuksan is so gorgeous . Most people have never heard of it even though it’s the pretty sister to Baker ;-) I had been there before on a tour but didn’t realise Baker was only like 12 miles away . I knew it was not far away but not that close . The photo was really easy just wait until the right fall color , sunshine , no wind , travel a few hundred miles , push some professional photographers out of the way , set up a tripod and take the shot ;-)

Oh, this is so pretty Marvin. What a fabulous place – and a superb capture of it! I can see Mt. Baker from my home in Port Moody BC Canada – it’s quite the peek and always snow capped. Cheers, S.

Thanks , Mount Baker was in my lens but the light was bad for that shot . From what I hear it is very difficult to get good lighting conditions for Baker . From the side we were it is the shadow side . To get to it’s best face you have to be in an almost inexcessible area . Oh well got a great view of Shuksan ;-)

Thanks I can’t imagine anywhere more beautiful . I love it there I want my ashes spread there . I was lucky I got there with a clear sky no wind and bright fall color . It took a lot of planning really . It’s about a 4 hour drive from where live ;-)

I didnt know this heaven existed, but I will keep it in mind the next time we go north. Hi Marvin….how ya be? Di

  • Thanks I highly highly recommend it . It’s one of the best places I’ve ever seen . And easy easy access . No need to hike just casual walking mostly . This particular photo could probably be done from a wheel chair even and that’s no joke . You park on the street , walk or roll down a smooth surfaced path a short distance and then take the shot it’s that easy . Getting the weather to cooperate is another story though ;-|

Hi Marvin. I did not know that you were here as well. This is an awesome photo of our Mt. Shuksan. The reflection makes this just stunning. What time of the day was this?

Thanks there’s a lot of Webshots people here .My Watchlist has mostly WS people ;-) I think it was around 12:30 noonish ;-) When I took that shot , seemed like the best light of the day . Rhonda ( busterrr19_ ) from Webshots has her photos from the mountain up now also on WS . She was up there about the same time . She helped me with information about the site because she was more familiar with the location having been there several times . I had only briefly been there on a tour bus a couple years ago . I hope to go back next year , it’s so beautiful up there ;-)
