Peacock Fountain
This Peacock was very accommodating . I stalked him all day and he didn’t take much notice of me . He goes pretty much where he wants and in this photo he wanted to get a drink out of the zoos Kids zone fountain . The water would shoot up for a second so he had to be fast to get a sip of water . He would look down at the hole until the next squirt of water sprang up . It was difficult to judge when I should snap the shot . After about a dozen tries I finally nabbed it ;-)

Wow, perfect timing – creating a great shot! You’re right about taking him home; I’m sure the zoo officials would have noticed – and your neighbors would have put curses on you! LOL
Marvin Hayes replied
Thanks , I tried to get a shot of him looking at his own reflection in a window but every time I snapped the shutter he turned to preen himself . So I’ve got plenty of preening shots ;

A great shot, Marvin. I have been to Pt. Defiance Park Zoo and lunched with the Peacocks. They are quite good at mingling with the guests. This photo tells me that I need to go back there for a visit. Well done!!! ~Marjie

giggle, what a moment! My boxer, King likes to drink from the garden hose like that! Nice to see your best works here Marvin!
Marvin Hayes replied
Thanks , I had a cat that liked to walk through the water coming from the garden hose while I was trying to water the plants . He used to sleep in the sink even when it was dripping on him . He used to come home smelling of perfume and smoked salmon . I think he was going out partying or something ; )

What a beautiful photo!
Marvin Hayes replied
Thanks it took me a long time to stalk that bird . He kept looking at me like I was nuts . I think chasing him half way across the Zoo made him thirsty ; ) Of course it could have been the salted peanuts I kept trying to bribe him with ; )
