Martin Madsen is an artist/designer/writer/blond. Born in Denmark in 1971, he started drawing around the same time he realized Steven Spielberg would probably not be adopting him. Early sources of inspiration were Gary Larson, Moebius and H.R. Giger. Later in life, he attended business school (but only because ILM did not have a branch office in Denmark), and for reasons which are still a little unclear to him, spent about 13 years as an advertising copywriter, magazine writer and illustrator. In 2004, he decided to turn his back on the glamorous life of no spare time and instead focus on his previous hobby, painting. Since then Martin Madsen’s paintings have been exhibited in juried shows, galleries and companies. He now alternates between painting, designing, writing and eating vegan curries. He lives on the west coast of the Danish peninsula, Jutland, with his beautiful wife and their imaginary Scottish Terrier (who absolutely worships the both of them).
