I wanted to get some snow shots so I decided to go up Helvellyn after a heavy fall of snow. I set off from Thirlspot as this would most probably be the easiest way up to the summit. I was there for most of the day with very few people deciding to go over Striding Edge or Swirral Edge. The light was perfect with some dramatic cloud formation over the summit. I noticed a couple of hardy walkers slowly walking towards the summit and said to myself ‘your almost there’ and thought that this would be a great title for the image. Once the photography was over I quickly set off back to Thirlspot and had a hot cup of tea at Keswick before driving back to my lodge.
