We launched leggings! Step into a world of individuality.

This is a HDR capture of two Icons of the past:
Bethlehem Steel and Mack Trucks.
Bethlehem steel, a subject of Billy Joel’s 1982 song “Allentown” ,closed years ago, due mainly to corporate greed. Really?
Mack Trucks is now owned by Volvo and it’s headquarters is moving south. It is no longer the “name brand” it was in it’s glory days.
You can see the 3 images of the Mack
Truck which was coming out of the gate at the time of the AEB image…… and edited with photomatrix pro and PS…
This is part of the Bethlehem Steel Series:

Originally being from the Pocono area of Pa. I can remember as a child the dreaded traffic jams that took place all around Bethlehem Steel and sitting in bumper to bumper traffic lines for hours!!! I also remember the impact it had when it ceased to operate, thousands were put out of work!!!

  • And Mack’s name will soon be missing from America too….. the Swedish will retire the name of Mack two icons gone

I am so sorry to hear that the name of Mack will be retired. I have many memories of those Mack coal trucks hauling coal here in Southeastern Kentucky!

  • It is a shame. such icons of the industry just didn’t keep up with the changing times……. and then there’s also the questions of greed in the upper tier of those companies

Great shot, you need to sponser a group shoot to there so the rest of us can see and photograph it.

  • Thanks eric…. I will need to contact some people first, this site is gated, and the only real shots are from Outside a fenced area…. I will start working on it and see if I can get permission to actually get inside this area…. It would be absolutely awesome because I’ve seen some of the inside of the buildings and it would be tremendous photo op
