Cungulla Tyre

Cungulla Tyre

This huge tyre was dumped on the mudflat at Cungulla, QLD, by locals trying to stem the erosive forces of storm-driven waves. I like that the ridges in the tyre mirror the natural ridges in the sand.

Canon EOS350D with a 17-85EFS-USM lens. Converted to greyscale in Corel PhotoPaint.

FEATURED in the groups Mangroves, Marshes and Mudflats (2/09) and Flotsam and Jetsam (2/09).

The ripples in the sand work well with the profile of the tyre. The light makes the texture of the rubber surface come out well. Well done!
