I love the shape of these Dolos (concrete defence blocks). to me they are like sea monsters trying to come ashore
I love to see work of all types and try to take in the divesity thats all around
I have never seen anything like this Marshall, wonderful shot, love the mist!! they almost look like a ton of sledge hammers thrown in a pile..this is so cool.
HI Kim, how you doing? thanks for the comment Glenn took me to see these they are between 6-9 tons in weight
– marshall calvert IPA
It gives me the heebie-jeebies.Love it!
Mell, there were great to see, thanks
This really is wonderful, you & glenn have really done this place justice with your shots. I’ve been down in that area a couple of times photographing but never knew it was there, very rare to see this sort of thing in Scotland so I’ll definitely be heading back. The problem is with you two doing such good long exposure b&w’s it’s going to be difficult for me to avoid seeming like I’m copying you! If I get anything like this though I’ll be delighted.
cheers Donald, just go and enjoy them then you will bring them to life good luck
wow! Bizarre and very cool :)))
thanks Louise, they are odd but I like that
Beautiful! Do they get thrown about by the sea? Have never seen anything like these but they work for the photo for sure. Tony
Hi Tony thanks, no they are to heavy some are 6 tons and some are 9 tons once in place they lock together and deflect the action of the sea so keeping down erosion
Lovely atmospheric shot. Looks organic. Reminds me of something but I can’t think what. I bet it’s fun dropping them into place.
Thanks catherine at that weight you need a big crane and steady hands
