Tango

Do the others see
how weak in the knees I
become when you are near?

Do they hear the thump, thump
of my chesty pump
when you pass beside me, Dear?

Do they articulate
the way I circumnavigate
your eyes when we share a smile?

Would they start to this less
if I had to confess
of my intentions to beguile?

But it’s not the right time
for our movements to rhyme
and for hearts to appear on the scene

We’ve commitments to tend
and old fences to mend
and the age old suburbian dream

Your time’s not been wasted
though pleasures untasted
sired rainbows the color of mango

I’ll remember your charms
when I’m held in strong arms
and dancing the beat of the tango

Tango

Artist's Description

“Other loves may come to us and will
and hold us in their spell for awhile until
we discover by and by
with a half regretful sigh
there’s a charm about the old love still.”

forgot the author…anyone?

Often when we are not free to pursue-
you must make the best of it.
Use that energy and write or paint or play ball.
