An old stone outbuilding on a corner near my former home in Sergeantsville, NJ.
As time went by the building lost it’s roof, then part of it’s walls, but someone
decided to stop the decay and capped the top of the walls with cement.
It is still a prominent landmark in the area.

Watercolor 16" X 20" Sennelier paints on Arches 140.

I started drawing for my son, who was fascinated with it as a child. I took a few classes in colored pencil and watercolor and found the company to be exceptional, and have loved the art world since.

Beautiful! I have been to Seargentsville, NJ — I used to live in Hopewell, NJ.

  • I used to dance at Charlie’s Brother in Hopewell, which was a wonderful small town, and still is.
Most people don’t know how beautiful rural NJ is. Glad you like it. Thank you Betty.

Such a Fantastic atmosphere to your Brilliant painting ! Such a pleasure to view and painted with lovely panache …Wow

  • This was an early watercolor, after getting out of three years of colored pencil, where everything was
so tight! I like both mediums but have never developed the loose style of some watercolorists. Thanks so much for the look, Paul. Always appreciated.

Love the character in this old stone building!

  • Thanks Angie. It’s pretty small but you can’t tell from the angle and nothing gives the size away.
