SQUANDERING PROHIBITED.....ARTIST @ WORK......(KODEUVETHIKS)

tick tock
go the hands on the clock
it refuses to stop
so time i squander not….

what has been done no longer exists,
i’ve had moments of bliss,
and moments when i was pissed.

tick tock
go the hands on the clock,
it refuses to stop
so time i squander not….

my mistakes try to remind me,
the itch my skin
and irritate
like poison ivy,
life threatening
like a virus inside me,
even when i hide
they still find me,
the good and bad
attempt to divide me.

tick tock go the hands on the clock
it simply refuses to stop
so time i squander not….

four thirty
is a little early,
but there i am
with pen in hand
crumpled paper,
and ink spots,
somewhat distraught-

but time i squander not….

so i un-crumple the paper,
and stare at the ink spots,
one after the other-
and then discover
the pieces-
to a jigsaw
every indecent thought,
every flaw….

i salvage,
mend,
and blend,
then
do
it
again.

tick tock
go the hands on the clock
it REALLY refuses to stop
so time i squander not…..

by 5:15 am
i have slipped into a vortex,
roommates perplexed-
for i look un-slept
and i don’t confess,
that i need
less
rest,
because my quest
requires my best
which isn’t always one hundred percent,
sometimes it’s the lower half of fifty,

squandering not,
i regroup,
sometimes slowly,
sometimes quickly

and STILL it won’t stop
tick
tock
go the hands on the clock

asking of me,
requesting usage-
don’t think it over
just DO IT
and do it justly
you can trust me
says Mrs. Time
take me
not
for granted
but for my WORTH
here since your birth
i was the first one on earth
and i’ve granted you
a slot
so i caution you!

SQUANDER ME NOT

.
.
.
so i make the agreement,
i believe it,
and i mean
it-

so i DANCE to the tick and the tock-
the soulful beat of the clock
the invisible motion
that just doesn’t stop-

and squandering
I
practice
how
to
not.

Time is a quandary, sometimes squandered, sometimes savored, never pausing. In the end we must judge if it was well spent. I think my time reading this was. {;-))
