Vacant Rowing Shed

Lake Wendouree (Ballarat, Victoria) is an artificially created and maintained shallow urban lake. Since 1864, when a rowing course was first cut through the reedy swamp, it has been carefully nurtured by council and public spirited citizens.

Currently citizens are unable to use the lake for rowing etc as Ballarat’s drought is at Stage 4 water restrictions and the lake is virtually dry.

Circumference: 6 kilometres

Nice colours and imposing winter tree Marnie.
I used to kayak on this lake during my childhood. Looking very sad now, but was also dry during the mid 40’s so hopefully will come back. I hope you had a drink at the “Lake View:) Hotel”!

I really love this image but i can’t put my finger on why. Maybe its the simplicty of the modest shed against the sotness of the sprawling tree branches….great capture Marnie
