This is infact a dead (stinky) fly

Canon EOS 40D
Pentacon 1.8/50 @ f16 on the end of a home made extension tube appox’ 200mm plus extension tube for mounting to camera via m42/EF adapter.
The tube is black plastic from a hoover with the interior roughened to minimize stray light
6 sec shutter
ISO 100
Main light from an LED torch
