Historic photo of the Twin Towers glistening in the sun on a cloudless day in New York City, NY.

The towers were destroyed by terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 but their beauty still lives on in our memories and artwork.

(Pentax ME-Super, scanned from a negative taken during the summer of 1989)

I believe we are created in the image of the creator, and that as we express ourselves creatively we reflect a bit of God’s nature.

Love the composition of this shot.

  • This has too be one of my all time favorite photos I shot, and to think it was just sitting in a huge box of photos in my basement.

    Stunning, minimalist masterpiece

  • Thanks, I appreciate your feedback. I have added a few more to the series, some from after 9/11.

This makes me sort of dizzy! :) Check out what happens when you scroll up and down real quick, just in 1/2 inch or so segments. Whoa. :) Seems like a mind game. :) Very cool in itself, and also a very powerful image because of the subject and all that it represents. Great job, Mark.

  • I love the moire effect with all the lines. It is cool zooming in and out on it too. Like I told Elizabeth it is one of my all time favorite photos.

Thanks for the reminder, they were a testament to man’s creativity. It just amazes me how many years they took to build and how many seconds it took to destroy them.
