Dramatic, powerful, evocative..almost Biblical one might say … Ezekial in the Wimmera, as it were…anyway Mark, congratulations on this piece of work
MarkStone replied
Thanks Harry. The desert country up there does have a biblical sort of quality to it, a very harsh and beautiful place.

Originally coming from Horsham I can see that you’ve really depicted the countryside in the surrounding areas, to the north of, very well here!! The colours are so real… Excellent work!!
MarkStone replied
Thank you. Yes its one of my favourite places.
Kain White
Amazing work mate. He’s back! I love the intense sienna you have used in the tree. Maybe it’s the burning bush? :) What size is it in real life?
MarkStone replied
Thanks Kain…Its roughly 90×60 cm.

I really like your sepia tones…..with always one other mix of color…..here that beautiful deep cranberry seeps through and fades into pink and then peach because of the sepia colors….....What a wonderful painting….awesome light…awesome work!
MarkStone replied
Thanks Elizabeth..often there is more colour in a limited palette than in a painting crammed with a lot of different hues, its something people have largely forgotten in painting nowdays, when more is so often considered better.

Wonderful!! It looks like this tree has weathered much and yet still manages to go on in a harsh environment. I get a real sense of isolation and existence combined!
MarkStone replied
yes, its amazing the way delicate things can survive in such harsh places.
