Savannah’s large Catholic cathedral was begun in the 1870’s, but ravaged by fire in 1898 only after the finishing touches were completed. Rebuilding on the same plans was not completed until 1920. It has a definite storybook quality to its design, not unlike an older European cathedral. When visiting, a tour of the inside is a must. The craftsmanship is apparent.
This piece is textured with many layers to present a piece that appears to have the texture of a painting.
