Pompeii - Fortune Favors The Bold
Another street scene from Pompeii, the ancient Roman City destroyed by Vesuvius in AD79.
This city has given the modern world a peek into the ancient. It’s both an archaelogical treasure and a tourist destination in the Napoli region of Italy.
Ironically, there are more people living at the foot of that same still active Volcano than when Pompeii was buried.
The latin quote translates to “Fortune Favors the bold” and is reportedly the last words of Pliny The Elder before leaving the docks of Pompeii to rescue people from the eruption.
