London & Southern England
A series of striking images from the south of England, stretching from the sea in Cornwall to the ancient city of London.
These photos attempt to capture the drama of life in England, a place that holds physical evidence of history that not only includes but long predates the Roman occupation 2000 years ago.
From stone-age monuments to the height of modern architecture, England has it all and now you can enjoy it each month.

Absolutely superb collection of images, Mark. I like the photoart aspect to these famous landmarks.
Very much in your own style and distinctive, away from the usual touristy photos. Intersting angles and tonal variations. Your photographic style is very much like mine when I’m using photoart.

Colin, thanks for all the thoughtful comments. I’m not exactly sure what “photoart” means? But I appreciate the compliments none the less! I took a peek at your gallery and am about to go back for a better look. At a glance, the style reminded me of JMW Turner – which I absolutely intend as a compliment. Thanks again!

Thanks for the fine comments, Mark. ‘Photoart’ is when I use photoshop to replace bland sky with dramatic sky but keeping the subject. Similar to this Tower Bridge image. My ‘Smailholm Sunset’ which you commented upon, is made up of about 6 layers.
And Turner is one of the influences on my paintings. Along with Thomas Harrison Hair (industrial watercolours) and the wonderful Ivan Aivazovsky, seascape painter.
Regards
Colin.
