imageworld
Sensous yet subtle, a great capture, well composed & well lit,
Mark Ross replied
This is just a snap from up against a window with a little cropping and tweaking in Photoshop but a big thank you anyway! Smiles.
Paul Gana
very creative shot, I don’t know about that black thing in the lower left, kinda distracting
Mark Ross replied
I agree with you. Unfortunately, the only way to comfortably frame the shoe was to be right where the lens was. Moving in any other direction introduced some other problem so it was the lesser evil to position myself where I chose to. Sometimes, you don’t have the options you’d like so you settle for next best. It’s a compromise.
Diana Forgione
Great shot! Great Shoe! Love the background and I like the thing in the foreground, it makes it look as if we’re intruding on something. Like a detective photographing a trist! I wouldn’t change a thing.
Mark Ross replied
Thanks for your very thoughtful comments Diana. This just goes to show you there’s more then one way to see something, right? Glad you like it, I really am!
Marianna Patra...

Soxy Fleming
WHAT do I have to do to get THOSE shoes? and in an opp shop too….
Mark Ross
Heehee, I love your silliness! Woops, I hope you weren’t really serious! Just read your Profile… you have to be a LEO! You DO love your shoes, don’t you?
Soxy Fleming
no not Leo. Yes I do like shoes but probably because I don’t have very many gorgeous pairs (or the opportunity to wear them except in photographs). This picture should be in the shoe group
Marylamb
Very nice.
Mark Ross replied
Thank you very much.
Helen Chierego
I wonder what happened to the other shoe..Lost by some NYC Cinderella; a one legged woman; tossed out of the window of a moving car…makes the mind run away with these thought when looking at this great image of a shoe.
Mark Ross replied
Wow, you have an inventive mind m’lady and to think, that never even occurred to me. It has to be somewhere, doesn’t it? Your observation makes this photo more interesting now, at least for me. Thank you for your delightful comments. Smiles!
amarica
Beautifully done Mark
Mark Ross replied
It’s funny amarica but… this was simply a grab shot taken on one of those weekends you take your camera out on a walk and hope you find something and when you don’t… you get antsy and just shoot anything. Anything! That’s what I thought about this take, yet it’s been well received. What a crazy surprise that is! Sometimes, it seems you shouldn’t rely upon your own “better judgement.” :<{
