Many Thanks...! Exhibition Opening

Many thanks to all who attended the opening of my exhibition “The Four Seasons” at the Murray Bridge Regional Gallery on Sunday, 9 Dec 2012.

The exhibition went off extremely well and was a most exhilarating experience, though it took much work in the preparation leading up to the opening, however, it was a most worthwhile experience with many thanks to the Murray Bridge Regional Gallery Volunteers and Staff.

The exhibition has been extended until the 24 February 2013 so if you would like to visit the Gallery and view the exhibition there is still plenty of time:

THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE HOLDING AN EXHIBITION

To make an upcoming or future exhibition run smoothly here are some things to consider before holding an exhibition:

1. Gallery fees,
2. Printing and framing your works,
3. Any outside marketing and promotion above and beyond what the gallery offers,
4. The amount of pieces you’re wanting to exhibit,
5. The amount of your time you’ll need to put in behind the scenes, and during the exhibition,
6. Getting everything done on time,
7. Transportation costs including delivery of works to the gallery and running around costs,
8. Local and broader media releases and releases to local community groups etc,
9. Letting people you know and don’t know about the exhibition,
10. Pricing your work, this is probably one of the hardest tasks,
11. Arranging for promotional and side-line products of your works e…

Exhibition details

Murray Bridge Regional Gallery
2:30pm Sun, 9 Dec 2012 – 3 Feb 2013
27 Sixth Street
Murray Bridge, South Australia

My first major exhibition is coming up in December and for the exhibition I have created a small documentary type overview video which gives a preview of the images that will be exhibited, a quick overview of the HDR Process and why I prefer to use it and my experience following my passion for photography and having Early Onset Parkinson’s.

I’m hoping the exhibition will get the attention of the local and broader media (they are being invited to the opening) and may be my exhibition will inspire those with similar disorders to follow their passion in life and not giv…

Really Exciting News...!

Today I have been invited by Christine Morrow, the Director of the Australian Experimental Arts Foundation to submit some of my works for consideration of possible inclusion in a group exhibition by the Foundation next August 2013.

“The AEAF curates its exhibition program to represent new work that expands current debates and ideas in contemporary art and culture. The contemporary visual arts sector that the Foundation supports, promotes, and seeks to stimulate includes practices that are inter-disciplinary and research-driven and have various gallery, project and urban outcomes.”

This is most exciting news!

Leeo Photography Exhibition

I had the pleasure of attending the opening of LeeoPhotography’s exhibition at the Sinclair’s Gully winery on September 15 and felt it was well worth the visit to see Lee’s beautiful photographic works of the Adelaide Hills.

The exhibition is on until Sunday 28 October so if your in the area drop in and have a taste of some Adelaide Hills wines and ponder over Lee’s beautiful work, you won’t be disappointed.

Sinclair’s Gully winery is set in natural bushland at Norton Summit in the Adelaide Hills and the perfect location for Lee’s photography.

Hiatus, SALA & Major Exhibition

HIATUS

After 4+ years of being on Redbubble I felt it was time to have a break, hence my abscense on Redbubble over the past month or so. I’ve enjoyed the break and I’m now starting to get back into RB.

I just got back from a Houseboat river cruise on the River Murray near Renmark, South Australia. It was 5 days of pure pleasure and bliss, taking lots of photos of the bird life and beautiful landscapes and riverscapes.

SALA

My 2nd SALA (South Australian Living Arts) Festival Exhibition was very successful and I hope yours was too!!
