Forgotten - Revisted

A high dynamic range image of an old derelict shed/shack at Kanmantoo shot from a different angle to another similar shot in my gallery. The image is the result of 3 merged images taken with AEB of 4 and the HDR made using Photomatix Pro. Final processing of the image done in Adobe Photoshop.

This image was featured on the Dilapidated Buildings group early 2009.

  • Mark Richards replied

Thanks Butch, if you can use Photoshop you can do HDR… its really easy. You can do HDR in Photoshop though I didn’t like the results so I got on to a program called Photomatix Pro which is brilliant!

  • Michael Matthews

    Michael Matthews

A great australian image Mark. I love the colours & the effect. I’ll get into this HDR eventually.

  • Mark Richards replied

many thanks for your comments Michael. A hint for when you do HDR, the best scenes to shoot are heavy overcast and cloudy days, I think it’s because of the contrast in light etc.

  • Michael Matthews

    Michael Matthews

Thanks Mark. I usually avoid shooting on sunny days because of the strong contrasts in light especially dark shadows. The sunglasses (polarising lens) is a permanent fixture on the camera & now that I’m shooting in RAW mode it makes it easier to soften anything that’s a bit bright. Love your pics.
