August 2011 Juried Invitational Exhibition

Born and bred in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia and currently living in Murray Bridge. I have previously exhibited artwork in San Francisco, USA, and have had photographic exhibitions in Sydney and Adelaide, Australia.

Solo Exhibition – SoJie 12 – Old Bathtub on Rooftop – Sydney

The above image has been selected for the Solo Exhibition, SoJie 12 and chosen by wonderfully talented artist Sally Sargent to be translated as a painting in her creative style.

I enjoy photographing many different subjects though I’m tending to lean towards landscape and travel photography. I have been selected as a finalist in the Canon Photo 5 2007 and have been selected twice as a finalist in the UK Digital Photographer of the Year. I have also had work selected by the ‘Gene Pool’ to be displayed in Federation Square, Melbourne in September 2008.

I have a good sense of humour and I love the beauty of nature and also the beauty in people and things in everyday life. I care about the people in my life, including some of the people I have come to know on RedBubble, looking forward to meeting some along the way. I also live with early onset Parkinson’s, which can be frustrating at times, though I am grateful to be alive and to experience what I have in life.

The equipment I use: Canon 50D EOS DSLR, Canon 18-55mm lens, Canon 75-300mm lens, Tamron 11-18mm wide angle lens, Tamron 28-300mm lens and a Velbon tripod. I usually take photos in the Canon RAW format CR2 and do some image adjustment processing in the Camera RAW software and I’m learning to use the new editing tools available in this. All other processing if I do any, is done in either Adobe Photoshop or Photomatix Pro. I use Adobe Bridge for viewing my images (I’ve tried Apple Aperture and Adobe Lightroom, Canon’s Digital Photo Pro and a couple of others and didn’t take to them).

I’ve had a couple of Pentax 35mm SLR film cameras and then recently moved to a Canon 350D DSLR and I have been completely wrapped with it. I never really got excited about film as much as I have with digital photography
