She;
The toxin
Within
Uncorked
Dust-caked
Half-EMPTY bottles of hindsight
Lining
A dampened
Cobwebbed
Basement stairwell;
Slithered
Into the single
Worst
Most vulnerable time
Of my life
When each
And every path
In the topography of
Myself
Had grown lush
Of downed limbs and
Underbrush
Hampering my vision
Puncturing
Scaring me
Snapping
Deafeningly
Under
Eggshell stride
Like bones
Of skeletons
From some closet
Of my past

I was alone

Jade

Paralyzed

Bare

It was frigid

Through the steam
Of my desperate breathe
She appeared;
Drenched
In the sweat
Of my pain
Poised
With open arms of
Promise
She was a castle of
Enticement
With flame
Assuring warmth;
Flickering
Every
Welcoming
Transom

I gravitated
Towards her
My heart;
Unfastened
From its womb
My barriers of security;
Removed
My walls of seclusion;
Transparent

Slowly
Silently
She constricted my
Soul
Until
Sundown
One night;
Arose…
And the darkness that is;
She
Grew;
Fang
Upon my flesh:
Consumed
Sight like wolf
Dehydrating me
Entirely
And that old familiar chill
Of emptiness
Overflowed

Engulfed

Entombed
