Great Arthur sought an audience
With bold Sir Galahad again
For though he thought the Grail secure
His efforts thus were but in vain

“Oh, Galahad my trusted friend
I seek your wisdom pure and true
The Templars sought an evil friend
Azazels’ spawn, pray known to you”

“In ways that are unknown to me
This evil beast did make his way
Within the walls of Camelot
And with the Grail did steal away”

Sir Galahad drew in his breath
“My liege I feel it fair to say
The Templars have their trust misplaced
This dark and evil morbid day”

“If they did seek the Grail once more
I know not why they chose this path
For where the dragon stores his wealth
Few men or beasts may ever pass”

“For now he has it in his hold
He’ll never choose to give it up
The Templars in their hasty choice
Shall no more see their sacred cup”

And sadly nor shall Arthurs eyes
No mortal man may wrest it free
The dragon coils around its prize
And guards it through eternity…

Final Resting Place

Inspired by the excellent work of Sarah Moore and her image Final Resting Place

I often write in an archaic voice as I enjoy the flow of the words. On being amazed by the Mists of Avalon series of images, I decided to write this piece.

    G’day Mark,

Indeed, a fitting tribute to Sarah’s creativity. And to yours. Every picture tells a story and here you have found the right ones in the most appropriate style. That one of my images has become part of both her work and your words is a great honour. :) george

Congratulations on having this work featured. It’s very well done, and even without the pictures that inspire you to write, it brings to mind clear pictures of the action in the story.

Very well-written, good choice of words. I enjoyed the voices and the dialogue that went on between them.

    Natella,

Many thanks. I enjoy using active voices where I can as I find it tends to give the piece a momentum of it’s own beyond mine…
