Seated upon the edge of Puerto Rico’s harbour in San Juan, statues wear away in the sea breeze amidst the running water of the Raices Fountain. This fountain honours the mixed heritage of the people of San Juan.
My interest in photography began back in high-school when I used my mother’s Olympus OM-1 to shoot sports events. I learnt to understand film, light meters and other technical issues. I bought my first SLR, a Nikon F70, when I finished uni and became more focussed on shooting portraiture, landscape and photojournalism. Since then I have not looked back opening my own business in 2009 specialising in portrait photography. www.markephotography.com.au
