Mark Curry lives with his family in Slaithwaite, in the Colne valley, West Yorkshire. Mark has lived in Slaithwaite since 1991, choosing to settle here after working as a cruiseship photographer.
Mark was born in 1963 in Southall but grew up from the age of six in Yorkshire and considers himself an adopted Yorkshire man inspite of his accent.
After two years at Wakefield School of Art he studied Fine Art at Newcastle Polytechnic specializing in painting and photography. He worked for the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Bretton Hall College before taking the opportunity to travel to parts he may never otherwise have reached as a photographer on board passenger ships. He now divides his time between freelance photography and audio visual work for Huddersfield University.
