The incandescent light bulb is on the way out, soon to be replaced by the more energy-efficient CFLs, halogen lamps, LEDs and other modern illumination. We’ve got a law in the USA that mandates it by 2012.
Of course, we are also warned that CFLs contain lots of mercury, so if you break one, you’re supposed to call in a hazmat cleanup crew….No, I’m not joking. And I have no idea what folks like me who suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder are supposed to do. Are full-spectrum CFLs available? I haven’t seen it yet.
Excuse me, I have to hurry out to the store and stock up on these old-fashioned bulbs while they’re still available.
