Mom and I once saw a famous romance novelist on TV, talking about her palatial home in which every room was pink. “I couldn’t stand that,” said Mom. I had to laugh: the bathroom and my brother’s bedroom were blue, because he insisted, but every other room in the house had pink as a major color in its palette. The original inhabitants of these shells appear to have made a similar design statement in their quarters.
Assorted shells, purchased in a second-hand shop, but very similar to those I have collected along Florida’s beaches.
