One woman in ten will be diagnosed with breast cancer. A far smaller proportion of men will, too.
Two things are important to understand:
1. It’s about you, your family, your friend, your neighbor. Even if you yourself are not attacked by this disease, someone you know personally has been or will be, and
2. If diagnosed early enough, it can be beaten. Regular self-exams and doctor checkups are a must. No head-in-the-sand attitude, okay?

UPDATE: I’ve had my 10-year mammogram and checkup, and am still cancer-free. I not only have my life back, I have my life-expectancy back, just as if I’d never had cancer at all. GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME!
