These are the last seeds from a “Tree of Heaven” that I just had removed from my yard. They turn lovely shades of gold and red in the fall, but the tree itself was a terrible nuisance, popping up seedlings everywhere, and it—well, frankly, it smelled to heaven when you brush against the foliage. It did give lots of shade, but I have other trees ready to take over that duty. Farewell, you old bother. They’re coming back Saturday to get the other one. I’ve got pictures of both, which is all I’ll ever wish to keep. :-)

What a marvelous shot, Marjorie – such a pity the tree had to be removed
Well, I do always hate to see a tree go, but there are two nice young walnut trees growing up quite nearby that will soon fill in the gap. I will miss the interesting colors of the seeds, though. Thanks for stopping by. :-)
