New Kids in the Neighborhood by

Meet my new neighbors, and they do live very near, in fact about 6’/2m from my kitchen door in the stack of plastic crates where I stash garden tools. I walk right past them every day, several times a day. I wonder why their mom chose that nesting site, when there are much taller trees and bushes only a few feet away. She seems to be wondering that herself. That’s her in the inset, perched in the cherry tree and doing her best to draw me and my shiny clicky thing away from her nestlings.

North American robins are larger and quite a bit brighter in color than their distant cousins the European robins.

How adorable!!! I wish I had these little babies in my garden! So cute :) :)

  • They were a boatload of fun to watch, and they’re back this year with mates and chicks! Though not quite so close to the door this year. I have quite a crowd in the three spruces and the lilac hedge. Thanks for looking in and commenting.
