Not that all walls in India are so very brightly colored, but this one is, and is unmistakably Indian (or maybe South Indian – I haven’t been in the north yet). They have such a flair for combining colors (whether bright or more muted), and this combination of lemon yellow (or very bright lime green, if you prefer) with the bright blue of the gate is striking in itself.
What makes it extra interesting is the white, horizontal ‘hand marks’ on the gate (which may be an entrance of a work shop) which, as far as I know, are a Hindu blessing referring to Lord Krishna. (If I am misinterpreting this and you have better information, please let me know!) You can also see some traces left of yellow and red dots applied to the white marks. Simply India!
