In a dark corner somewhere in Khiva…

One pane of a window is missing, so it’s repaired with a large piece of cardboard from the packaging of an Indesit electrical appliance. At least it’s the right side up! In a country like the Netherlands it would not last very long (which is why it has this umbrella icon!), but it never rains here anyway. Well, not often (it actually did rain the last time when I was there!)

Camera: Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1

    any country… great shot!

  • :) I was looking for a photo of a window with peeling paint for a challenge and was surprised to find this – due to the dark corner it was shot in the dull colors had made me overlook it completely – so now there are two more windows from Uzbekistan. Maybe I should make a series of windows from Central Asia, I have more…

    Thanks for the fave, Margot!

You do where to find an how to capture them Marjolein. Great image!

  • Where to find is easy: just get away from where the tourists are and walk the streets where the locals live, work and shop (and keep your eyes open). I always do that anyway, camera or no. Thank you for adding this to your favorites! :)
