So much more beautiful than a perfectly tiled wall! There is such character here… speaks volumes! Love♥

  • The little mosque is special, in that all the tiles there are originals – unlike for instance the much more famous blue İznik tiles in the Blue Mosque. When we reached this mosque after a long walk we were lucky: it’s open only during prayers, and they were just ending. The caretaker showed us around, including up a very narrow spiral staircase to the women’s balcony where we could look down into the main hall.
There was indeed a lot of character there – and not just in these gracefully-old tiles. Thank you Susana!
