As someone commented: “Such disdain – I love this!”
Indeed, ‘disdain’ is the perfect word to describe this lovely creature’s attitude. I was out photographing walls, and the wall with its glint of gold drew my attention – when I saw this regal cat, adding a special ‘dimension’ to the wall, and vice versa.
So this ended up about equal parts “wall” and “cat”. And feral cats are such an unavoidable (and charming) feature of Istanbul, in its own disdainful way, this cat represents “Istanbul” as well!

Love this! You really captured his regal attitude!
LOL! ‘Regal’ was exactly the word that jumped into my mind when I spotted him there. ;)
That will definitely figure in the description but I still have to write the descriptions fro this little series (only the Calendar has text so far). But it’s way past my bedtime now…
Thanks for being the first to comment and for the fave! You made my day. :)

The Cat.
So perfectly he has placed himself.
He has been there before in another life.
good work!
I thought I’d seen feral cats when I was in Rome – but there you see them in some specific areas only. In Istanbul they’re everywhere, and none of them looks hungry either. I’ve noticed people actually put out water, or even food for them.
But indeed, this gentleman looked so perfectly at ease – as if he’d never even consider going anywhere else. :) While I was shooting, he was even falling asleep there!
Thanks for your comment and the fave!

Yes… :) But this one seemed to be saying to me “Stop staring! This is my home!”
Thanks for the comment and the face!

Thank you so much, Celia! I appreciate the fave, too.
(Poking through your portfolio a bit, I see many “echo’s”: we do seem to share this fascination with walls. :) )

Thank you Akrotiri! This little guy was also *fur*pect with its soft orange fur so nicely emphasizing the old, cold marble (and the little bit of gold).
