A little break from the harbors series – last Saturday (2010-07-24) was the third World Wide Photo Walk, the first for me to take part. Exciting to know there were 1111 walks all over the world with a whopping 31960 registered walkers, all enjoying photography and each others’ company on the same day! I chose to take part in Almere because I’d never been there before: Jantheo was the ‘leader’ and had devised a route with the theme ‘color’. So much fun to see that even before we had reached our target area, people were shooting off in all directions, finding color and doing their own ‘thing’: the modern architecture could wait, there was water, and plants, and wall paintings, and – well – photographers! :)

The incredibly colorful building that houses the tax office in Almere deserves its own mini-series. It’s all about the angles – angles of viewing, angles of light, and unusual angles in the building itself. There’s nothing more to tell – just look, and preferably view large!

No worries I would surely let you know no idea when it might be though easier to get to than the USA :o) have to come over for a weekend trip show Sam around…

  • Plenty around here for a little boy to enjoy, too! :) If you’re interested in this building try including a weekday so you can actually get in that courtyard – there’s a gate closing it off during the weekend.

Cool have to think about a long weekend over there including the Monday? I guess Friday’s would be busier.. given me a nice idea for a chillout weekend and get some snapping opportunities as well as Sam visiting another country… I’ll let you know probably later this year I’ll BM you.

  • Yes, Fridays would be busier, but on Mondays more things would be closed, so i’d depend on what exactly you want to do. Let me know when (before) you’re ready. :)

I had a lot of fun with these (that’s probably visible!); a few more, slightly different in character, to post, but I gave priority to our Dutch RedBubblers photoshoot of last Saturday. :)
